The top Ways to Cook Shiitake Mushrooms
One of the simplest & most tasty ways to make shiitake mushrooms is in a saute pan, with a bit of onion and garlic. You are going to want to saute the onion and garlic first in a few coconut oil until the onion starts to get soft. You can use a yellowish onion, thinly sliced or diced, and either fresh or “jarred” minced garlic.
Slice the shiitake mushrooms thinly & add them to the pan. Cook until they get smooth, approximately ten or maybe 15 minutes. You can serve over rice or pasta, or as a nice accent to chicken, fish, shrimp, you name it.

Shiitakes can also be used as a base for stock. Cut them into thick pieces and saute them in a stockpot with yellow onions (diced ) and garlic. Add aproximatelly 2 quarts of water and cook on heat which is low for a minimum of 2 hours. Just like with any kind of stock, the more you fix it down, the greater amount of flavor it will have.
