Renewing My Prayer Life
(ATLANTA – DECEMBER 7, 2012) Searching for direction in your spiritual life often leads down some paths that may simply be called, “interesting”. It seems becoming a natural state, though. Almost everyone searches. A case could possibly be made that, indeed, everyone searches – and everyone finds. What, exactly, they’re looking for and what, exactly, constitutes ‘finding’ is less easily categorized.
There are those that rebel up against the very perception of authority when it comes to the region of true spirituality. Jesus Christ managed this in this real and meaningful way. Of course, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, deals with every area of life in a very real and relevant and meaningful manner, by using these grace and tenderness.
There is likewise a feeling of progression in the spiritual life, oracion de la noche and it’s also difficult. It requires patience while you learn and explore a fresh discipline. You can apply techniques which can be suggested, but truly, you might be learning a whole new discipline that you also have no training. God will show you. You will experience Him in your practice time. The society we are now living in will offer you no encouragement whatsoever. Press on and experience a relationship with God that can become a lifestyle.
In this prayer minister model, the minister does not attempt to give advice, diagnose, provide insight, or give direction. So often, Christian counselors inadvertently move people toward victim thinking in seeking to solve their difficulties for them, or even get yourself a word in the Lord on their behalf. People are happy so that you can solve their difficulties for them, but this brings little lasting fruit and could bring about ego on the part from the minister. Any form of ministry that places the minister like a person’s “source” is moving toward dangerous ground. People are really quite able to hearing from the Lord themselves with some support.
God planted anything within me away back in January with a Conference I attended with two hundred and thirty colleagues. We have been meeting thrice a year for many years now. I was invited to become thing about this group away last the early 1970’s when only twenty or thirty of us were attending and it has slowly grown.
