The 2010 Hall of Fame voting is over and Andre Dawson was the one professional that received enough votes to be elected to the Hall. This story concerns who was not elected and what I believe is the reason why. Mark McGwire merely got twenty three % of the votes needed. Sammy Barry and Sosa Bonds along a selection of players which are former on the obtainable list will be under the same cloud about whether these players will likely be elected to the Hall of Fame.

So that is the question as to whether or not steroid use must influence a player’s election to the Hall of Fame. Along that same idea line is an even greyer region. What about the records that have been made for some of the players with steroids? Single season home run records and other documents are a problem here and I’m wondering what fans believe. Steroids played a job in the player’s overall performance. Whether they received strength or perhaps aided the recovery or even lessened the severity of injuries steroids enhanced overall performance.

Players now what about the future would be faced with reaching for documents that may be out of reach. Documents that were broken might not have been. The problem is not going out. Fans, players, internet writers as well as management all offer a viewpoint. They all do not agree but at the same time all do. Steroids should never have occurred and all agree the steroid era has ended.

But what now? Will the league just let the dust settle as well as move on? Dealing with the issue will have its consequences. The players and I am sure the union will have a concern if players in question are handled in a bad manner. Baseball was nonchalant in addressing the issue and closing the barn door after the horse has left does not alter what has occurred. There is debate when any of this actually matters. I’m certain there were reasons. The household run race between Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa was good for baseball. Fans enjoyed it. Baseballs were flying out of stadiums through out the league. Attendance was the best legal steroids south Africa in years. So what is ideal to do? Nothing?

There is an area that I believe will show fallout. The baseball writers are indicating that election to the Hall of Fame will focus whether a player used steroids. Time will tell as to the length of time this perception that the body voting on Hall of Fame applicants will keep the vote of theirs on these players. Would it make an improvement if they come clean on using steroids? Or perhaps will time heal the wounds?

There is ample blame going around on the way steroids hurt the game. The players, the clubs as well as the commissioner’s office all personal a part of it. And you might even say the fans as well. If enough outrage had been made would it have made a big difference?
