Rare eye infection suddenly appearing everywhere
Fungal Keratitis sounds like a thing you pick up at the gym but in reality its no laughing matter. A rare infection that may cause blindness it’s increasingly appearing all over the United States and the world.
Originally thought to show up only after contact with rare plants or in really sick people, it has abruptly begun to appear among contact wearers.
The illness happens at the cornea which is responsible for most of the eye’s optical power. Symptoms are able to include: blurred vision, pain and redness which does not improve if the contact lens is eliminated, improving sensitivity to light, and too much tearing or even discharge. The product, manufactured by Lomb and Bausch, was named in an April 2006 article by the CDC after they discovered that in thirty cases they investigated twenty six was using that product.
While it had been pulled from store shelves only days later, it is unknown the number of Americans who applied Renu with MoistureLoc could possibly have put themselves at risk of an illness.
